Meet Me.

In books, blog posts, and podcast interviews, you’ll hear me talk about my personal struggle with anxiety. I think I’m still trying to figure out where the line is between professional expert (of which I am) and authentic human being who struggles (of which I also am). I’m grateful to my patients who allow me to be both.

Professionally, here goes:

I have 10 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, specializing in Integrative Mental Health, board-certified in internal medicine, psychiatry/mental health, and addictions, and practicing at the nationally-renowned Lindner Center of HOPE in Mason, Ohio. I'm pretty proud to work at this place.

I earned a PhD from Saybrook University where I studied Integrative Mental Health and Mind-Body Medicine.

I have been nominated as a Rising Star Medical Leader by VENUE/Lead Magazine. I’ve been published in MEDSURG Nursing and The Journal for Nurse Practitioners (JNP), as well as Talkspace. I’ve been interviewed by Assurex Health, Well + Good, Bipolar Hope Magazine, ThriveWorks, Bustle, HeatLamp, and Cincinnati Family Magazine as well as many, many podcasts.

In 2021, I published my very first book, a collection of devotions entitled Dear Anxiety, Let’s Break Up.

In 2023, I released Untethered: Learn the Art of Exchanging Overwhelming Fear for Soulful, Lasting Peace.

On a more personal note, I live with my family in a suburb of Cincinnati.

I hang out daily on my Instagram - I may not post something original every day, but you can for sure count on me for re-posting some quality memes: @AmandaPorterNP
